Subhas Chandra Bose- 125th Birth Anniversary
Humble homage to Subhas Chandra Bose on his 125th birth anniversary (23 January, 1897). The foremost freedom fighter, he quit British Civil Service to plunge into freeing India from the draconian British imperial rule. Sadly he was tormented not only by the British but suffered grievous disadvantages at the hands of the Congress stalwarts Gandhi and Nehru in his early life. In order to dislodge the British who killed thousands and robbed the country at will, he tried to seek help (29 May,1942) of the tyrant dictator Hitler who as a racist and murderer of humanity did not consider India to be worthy of freedom. Snubbed but relentless in his campaign, Subhas Bose set up (1 Sept. 1942) Indian National Army (Azad Hind Fauz) in Singapore to fight the British occupation, that sustained a tangible momentum to the freedom struggle. Subhas Bose was the Head of the Government and the Head of State of the provisional Azad Hind (Free India). In essence, he was the First Prime Minister of India even before the country became independent. The country will forever be indebted for the courage, audacity, strength, determination and supreme sacrifice of Subhas Bose, that catalyzed the British to realize untenability of further occupation. At his 125th birth anniversary, India remembers with deep gratitude one of the greatest sons of India ! Jai Hind! जय भारत!
